Christmas Day 2009

This Christmas was so much fun! Avery was able to really participate in events, and understand about presents, and Santa (well a little bit). She was scared after we told her that Santa was coming to the house to bring her presents while she slept. And, actually, on Christmas morning I had to promise her that Santa was gone before she would come downstairs! She really is getting so smart & understanding everything we say. After she woke up and decided it was safe to come downstairs, she was thrilled to see all the presents under the tree. She ran first to her "bike" (which is actually a tricycle with a steering wheel for parents. Then after tearing into a few wrapped gifts she decided to take a break and eat some breakfast. Then we went right back into unwrapping...until she was completely over it. I was surprised at first, then I realized it was probably just too overwhelming...she refused to open her last few gifts! She was just to busy and excited to play with the ones she already opened. I think next year we will ask Santa for a few less gifts =)

Papa stopped by to see what Santa brought Avery...

Grandma stopped by too...

Grandma & Papa bought a special gift for their grand kids this year - a power wheel MUSTANG. Wow, they had fun playing with that!

We had Christmas dinner with Nana, and Uncle Brian & Natalie. They were so sweet to spoil Avery with even more presents!
