We decided to have a small party to celebrate with Hunter the weekend before his actual birthday. We invited Hunter's best friends and our family over to the house for dinner, play time and cake. Of course, my favorite part of a 1st Birthday is watching the child dive into their first bite of sugary heaven (aka: cake)...and I was careful all year to not give Hunter anything sweet. So that his birthday cake would be extra special...and of course he wouldn't even touch it. It was so funny because we had this group of people staring at him & waiting to see him dive in...and he just wouldn't do it. Daddy ended up smashing his hand into the cake for him & even trying to get him to taste it - but no luck. I think Hunter was just overwhelmed by everything that was going on around him - now it is a funny memory for us! Of course we took him out to dinner on his actual birthday night - and he dove right into a plate of "flour less chocolate cake" & loved every bite!

Our friend, sweet baby Kelsey came to join in on the fun (I mean sleep!). We were so honored that she made an appearance - seeing that she was only 2 1/2 weeks old. What an adorable newborn!!
Kelsey's big brother, Hayes, was there too - and he is the cutest little guy! He was surrounded in girls all night - and they even attacked him with hugs and kisses when he tried to leave at the end of the night. Watch out mom & dad, you have a heart breaker on your hands...
