Avery's First Day of Preschool!!

Our little girl started preschool today! I know it sounds funny to send an 18 month old to "school", but it's truly a socialization experience for her. (and gives mom a few hours to catch up on work). She is attending preschool at Mt. Bethel - which is also our church, and is where Avery went for mothers-morning-out this summer. So, luckily she is used to being in the building already. It was a tough morning for me, dressing her for school, waking her up at 8:45 (yes - she's a sleeper) and trying to get her to eat breakfast before we were out the door. I am used to being very laid back in the mornings, she sleeps as late as she wants, and likes to wait for breakfast until about 10. =) Dropping off at school was OK this morning, she went to her teacher with open arms & her "B" bear in hands. The kids have playtime, snack time, circle time, more play time, and then even more playtime. (as you are getting the hint...) They also do an art project each day & have music class once a week, ad go to the playground every single day. If it's raining outside the school has an indoor playground (very cool).

When I picked her up this afternoon, Kriya (Wade's mom) and I decided to sneak over early and see how they were doing. We hid behind a car (parent paparazzi style) and checked on the kids. Of course Wade was happily playing & Avery was crying and in the teacher's arms. Bless her heart...she was confused as to why they were outside and I wasn't there. The teacher promised she had a good day until they went outside. So, hopefully she enjoys day #2 a little more.

Avery's first art project: (I did cry a little when I saw this)
