Avery's First Year of Preschool

We were so blessed to have the BEST teachers for Avery's 1st year of preschool! Miss Angela & Miss Beth were so sweet to Avery this year, and really took the time to get to know her well. Avery loved them so much that she would talk about them every day & ask if she was going to see them in the mornings.

Avery attended preschool at our church, Mt. Bethel UMC, and it was every Monday & Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 12:30. (this was a perfect opportunity for me to go home and work in my home office) During school time Avery learned a lot - colors, shapes & numbers, in addition to things like manners, socialization, and even prayers & songs. It truly was an amazing year for Avery!

This is snack time, when they all sat together at a large table & said a thank you prayer before eating. Every mom in the class took turns providing a snack for the entire class, it was so nice to not worry every day about packing a snack. (just once every 10 weeks!) And, yes, that is boyfriend Wade across the table from Avery - they were classmates all year, lucky kids.

Avery on the playground, of course with paci & "bee" in hand. The class had outside play time every single day - unless it was raining, then they would utilize an indoor playground. It was so nice to know that the kids could run around and play every day.


Here you see "story time" where the kids all sat on their own carpet squares and listened to Miss Angela read them books.


This is their Valentine's Day Party, and Avery wore her special outfit:


Here is their Halloween Party, and all the kids could wear their costumes to school for the day, what a cute pumpkin! (of course her real costume was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, but it was too intricate for school...)


This was "Doughnuts with the ones you Love" where they asked all the parents to come into class before work and have breakfast with their kids. It was so sweet to spend time with Avery in the morning, and the school even offered Starbucks coffee to all the parents :o)
